my first attempt at a bigger model: vortex proton. tried to give it a steampunk feel with some aesthetic additions and lots of copper paint dry-brushing :)

I did have some issues with getting the trigger to work again reassembled. I removed 2 of the 3 trigger locks which paid off but it still operates very rigid… so if anyone has experience with this I’d appreciate some tips.

This one took a long time to complete. Not because it was a difficult piece to make but ‘cause I kept changing the coloring over and over. Urgh, colors Y u hate me so much!
The idea behind this is pretty obvious - I think: I never liked fairytales that depict animals as the ‘bad guys’. I know they are often used as a metaphor for all the evil stuff we humans are guilty of…but it never felt right to me. (Needless to say, I like princess stories better.)
In my mind Red is a fierce girl with a vision of a better world. She’s not scared of Wolf, that’s just silly huntsman talk.

I was there in the background and the constant reboots made me wonder if I was stuck in an alternating dimensional loophole… but all that work paid off imo :)

ok, now this i can call a mod for once. not just some sanding but also wham bam: a permanent scope to the side (perfect for gangsta’ style shooting :p)might fiddle with LEDs or laserlights in the future + getting to work on a bigger model :)

another Nerf repaint and this time I sanded down much more from the sides, put a couple of (air)holes in it… so it can… erh, shoot faster?learned a couple of things from this which I’ll keep in mind once I get to work on bigger models.

Yes, I (kinda) finished this! I could still fiddle with the colors for hours but I decided I rather like the ‘slapped on colors’-look so I’m gonna leave it at this.
FYI, below you can see the original idea for the piece that I reworked because, hell, i like the whole plug-old-phones-in-your-back thingie. Funny thing was that I was just randomly sketching when this idea came back into my mind, I didn’t even check the previous version until I was almost done with the new drawing…and I have to say; things do change in 4 years. :)
The 2008 version was made as a cover for this band, they’re totally rad!

left is before alteration, right is after.First time I took one of these apart to repaint. I think the result is rather ok for a starter. had some paint issues though. spray cans and me aren’t the best of friends.I applied two layers of white primer, a base coating of grey, added the fluorescent touches and the weathered effect (drybrush with black acrylics… needs work :p) and finally a final translucent veneer (also spray can). I left about an hour in between layers but the paint was still soft (tears and fingerprints at the low pressure).any suggestions to resolve this are welcome, imma google it as well ;)ps: the logo and warning texts were removed with a dremel to give it a slightly more realistic feel
